"It's a very quaint community with wide streets and lots of trees," says longtime resident Angela Romano of John Savoretti Realty in Franklin Square.
Residents have access to a pedestrian-friendly commercial district along Nassau Boulevard, which is dotted in part by shops and eateries. The location also provides easy access to major highways and is near three train stations -- Nassau Boulevard, Merillon Avenue and Garden City, local agents say.
Neighborhoods feature mostly Capes, split-levels and ranches, often on 60-by-100- foot parcels. "I see young families moving in," says Herta Kapp of Coach Realtors Fennessy Associates in Garden City, citing affordable prices and a good school system.
