The Mattituck home of Candida Royalle, the late adult film star, is on the market for $499,000.
Royalle, who was born Candice Vadala and grew up in New York, died in September of ovarian cancer at age 64. A noted animal rights activist, Royalle originally purchased the North Fork cottage in 2005 as a weekend escape from New York City, but she eventually made it her permanent home, says listing agent JoAnn Wind of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty.
The two-bedroom, two-bathroom, wood-shingled Cape was built in 1940 and has a wood-burning stove in the living room, along with original glass door knobs and wood floors.
“It does have all the vintage, 1940s features, which makes it attractive,” Wind says.
The home has some modern touches, including central air.
It sits on a private road that is close to Love Lane, which has become a popular spot, with restaurants and shops, Wind says.
