An expanded lakefront Cape with an accessory apartment in North Babylon is on the market for $649,990. Annual property taxes are $12,055.
The 1,624-square-foot home on Deer Lake has four bedrooms, two baths, hardwood floors, natural gas heat, a vaulted ceiling in the living room and a full, finished basement with a walk-out entrance. The second-floor balcony and two first-floor decks overlook the lake.

The upstairs has a legal accessory apartment with a large bedroom and a combined living room and kitchen, says listing agent Lois Villano of Coldwell Banker American Homes.
“If somebody were buying it and wanted to turn it into back into a one-family, then it could be a total five-bedroom house,” says Villano, adding that the upstairs kitchen/living room would revert to a bedroom.
The 0.45-acre property on Deer Lake Drive has a small private dock on the lake, which is a perfect spot for pedal boating and kayaking, says Villano, adding, “The views are just gorgeous.”

Built in 1954, the house was completely renovated within the last few years after it incurred significant damage due to a burst pipe, Villano says. It has new windows and new sliding glass doors, gas heat and a one-car attached garage.
The home is zoned for the North Babylon School District and is near the Southern State Parkway, shopping and restaurants on Deer Park Avenue and Belmont Lake State Park.
