The architect for the Garden City Hotel designed a hilltop home in Centerport on the market for $635,000.

The owners of the property, which has views of Northport Harbor, have dubbed the home “Tree House,” says Kerri Kelly of Douglas Elliman Real Estate, who is listing the property with Lorna Mann.

Architect Theodore Bindrim, whose later work included the Garden City Hotel and Garden City Plaza, designed the four-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home. The 1961 house is located on 3.22 wooded acres.

"It was a very nice piece of property," says Bindrim, now living in North Carolina.

There are wood-beamed cathedral ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors throughout. The ceilings, window frames, trim and a wraparound deck are made of redwood.
