A one-bedroom co-op in Wendell Terrace in the Village of Hempstead is on the market for $199,000.

“It’s very well maintained inside and out,” says listing agent Walter Greene of Signature Premier Properties. “The hallways are in spectacular condition" and the unit is very bright.

A sixth-floor unit in the seven-floor building, the co-op has one bathroom, granite counters and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, ample closet space, and a large balcony off the living room.

The apartment measures 800 square feet, or 950 including the balcony, says Greene, adding that many owners transform the formal dining rooms of the one-bedrooms into a second bedroom.

The monthly maintenance fee of $1,007 covers taxes, common area maintenance, heat and water.

The building has a lobby-level laundry room, storage room and a private parking lot. Parking is an additional $25 per month or $50 for a reserved spot.

Located on Wendell Street in the Hempstead Union Free School District, the co-op is a few blocks from Garden City and near country and golf clubs, museums, Adelphi and Hofstra universities and NYCB Live's Nassau Coliseum.

The building accepts a minimum downpayment of 10%, Greene says. It is staffed daily from 6 p.m to 4 a.m. and permits cats and dogs (under 40 pounds). Residents may sublet their units after living there two years.
