A Southampton barn, converted into a house in 1984 and redesigned over the years, is on the market for $8.49 million.

The almost 135-year-old barn was on farmland originally owned by the Hildreth family, says Michaela Keszler, of Douglas Elliman Real Estate, who is listing the property with her daughter, Luisa Keszler. The current owner, who bought the home in 1991, redesigned it in stages.

The four-bedroom, 3- 1⁄2-bathroom house has an open living room with 30-foot ceilings, fireplaces on two floors and walls of glass doors that open to a patio overlooking a heated pool.
