The Corcoran Group held its third annual East End Rental Expo Wednesday night in Manhattan. The event is designed to bring together potential seasonal renters with agents offering available Hamptons properties.

Rick Hoffman, Corcoran's East End regional senior vice president, said this year's rental market was particularly active. He noted that by February of this year, rentals in the Hamptons were up 140 percent over last year. "The rental season has been extremely strong this year and started much earlier than usual," said Hoffman. "Rental activity is up in all Hamptons markets, but there are still some great homes available, many of which were showcased.”

The event featured more than 30 agents showcasing more than 12,000 properties, and Hoffman said that one $35,000 lease was signed on the spot.
