A spacious, light-filled two-bedroom, two-bath cottage with double-height ceilings on Tyte Drive in Riverhead is on the market for $499,000. The annual property taxes are $6,200.

Built in 2004 on a 0.12-acre lot with 1,100 square feet of living space, the house has one bedroom and bathroom on the first floor and another bathroom and bedroom upstairs.

The living room has hardwood floors and an abundance of windows, including a skylight, and the kitchen has new stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and wood cabinets.

“The price point is really hard to find in this area, especially in eastern Long Island,” said Gwenyth Mercep of The Corcoran Group, who is listing the home with John Frangeskos. “It’s an excellent investment, and an excellent property to own and live in.”

The separate 650-square-foot garage behind the house could be turned into an additional living area, and there is space on the upper level for an extra bedroom or home office, Mercep said.

On the lower level, the ceilings are 8 feet tall.

The unfinished basement has walk-out access and a laundry area. There's a patio out back.

The property is served by the Riverhead Central School District. It is near the Tanger Outlets and other shopping and restaurants in downtown Riverhead, as well as Indian Island County Park, and is about 20 minutes to the Hamptons and the North Fork, as well as beaches on Long Island Sound.

“You get a little bit of everything in this location,” Mercep said.
