A new, custom-built, six-bedroom brick-and-stone Colonial on a large lot in Valley Stream is on the market for $2.188 million.
Included in the price are the billiard, Ping-Pong and hockey tables that are in the basement game room.
The 3,800-square-foot home features many ornate designs, such as wrought-iron front and back doors, tray and coffered ceilings, a quartz-wrapped fireplace in the kitchen, tile floors with medallion designs throughout the first floor, and hardwood floors on the second.
Completed this year, the house, which has five full and two half-bathrooms, was built with reinforced 2-by-6 wood framing instead of traditional 2-by-4s, says Ravi Pal of Pal Brothers Real Estate Corp., who is listing the home with Ankush Pal. The builders used waterproof closed-cell spray foam for insulation and cast iron and copper instead of PVC pipes for plumbing, Pal adds.
There are 150 high-hats in the house, which also has low-voltage wiring for the security system, and four zones of air conditioning and heating. The finished basement has walkout access. Most of the bedrooms have an attached bathroom and the kitchen has double-height cabinets with an island and quartz countertops.
Set on a 0.17-acre lot on Fir Street with a detached two-car garage, the home is zoned for the Valley Stream Union Free School District and is close to Sunrise Highway, Brookville Park, Green Acres Mall and restaurants. Annual property taxes are $16,811.
The owners are leaving so soon after the house was finished "to move deeper into Long Island,” Pal says.
