Cynthia Rowley draws on Montauk base for inspiration

Montauk fixture and fashionista Cynthia Rowley brings her East Coast flair to a West Coast brand in a new line of surf wear known as Cynthia Rowley for Roxy. Rowley, a fashion designer and avid surfer from the West Village who spends her summer weekends at a 500-square-foot former fisherman's shack on the East End, collaborated with the Los Angeles-based women’s surf retailer to create a flirty fusion of femininity and functionality. But you’ll have to trek to Manhattan to achieve the Montauk look: Barneys New York is the only place in the country that sells it. The clothing line, which features both surf gear and street wear, will launch in April.
