Italian designer Fortuna Valentino has put her glamorous Sands Point estate on the market for $9.25 million.

The six-bedroom, five-bath, two-half-bath Contemporary has 360-degree views of the Long Island Sound from floor-to-ceiling glass windows throughout the house. The 2.2-acre property has a sweeping lawn that leads to the beach, where there is 288 feet of water frontage.

The 1969 house has an indoor pool, a meditation room, a cabana and a balcony.

Taxes are about $74,500 a year.

Valentino is the daughter of the late designer Mario Valentino, who was celebrated for his ability to make leather resemble almost any fabric. He created fashions for Jacqueline Kennedy, Sophia Loren, Ava Gardner and other celebrities, and created a splash for many of his shoe designs — including a pair of sandals he made from coral.

Fortuna Valentino is known for her footwear, handbags and accessories. She once told CNN that women “want a touch of glamour” in what they wear. “Glamour,” she said, “is like sugar in a cake — we need it, we like it, and we want it when we buy it.”

Bonnie Doran of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty has the listing. She declined to comment on the property.
