An East Quogue property with a home that was once a barn, and which has an income-producing cottage, is on the market for $979,000.
The current owners renovated both houses, says Elaine Bernstein of Kerrigan Country Realty, who is co-listing the property with Bruce Phillips.
“If you’d seen the house originally, you never could have believed what it became,” Bernstein said.
The four-bedroom, 2 1⁄2-bathroom main house has high, wood-beam ceilings and wide-plank wood floors throughout, while the renovated kitchen features marble countertops. The 600-square-foot, one-bedroom cottage comes with an eat-in kitchen. The houses sit on three-quarters of an acre with room for a pool.
“There aren’t a lot of legal two-family properties in the area,” Bernstein says.
