Fire Island ranch in Seaview lists for $1.19 million

A four-bedroom, 1½-bath ranch in the small Seaview community on Fire Island is on the market for $1.19 million. The house is half a block from the bay and comes furnished.

Built in 1925, the 1,500-square-foot house, on Surfview Walk, was taken down to the studs and renovated this year, said Anne Marie Kerzner of The Agency Northshore NY, the listing agent, owner and designer of the property. Taxes are $9,274; an offer is pending.

It includes a kitchen with an island with seating and a loft overlooking the kitchen that has three full-size, built-in beds. There are also four bedrooms downstairs.

“The house has an open floor plan, much bigger bedrooms than you usually get over there,” Kerzner said. “The furniture is more high-end than normal beach houses.”

Kerzner bought the house, which was being used as a rental property, in October and renovated it, but is selling because she plans to move out of state, she said.

Set on 0.13 acre, the house has a small wood deck in front and a spacious deck in back with an outdoor TV and shower, and a built-in grill and bar.

The house is zoned for the Fire Island School District for students up to sixth grade and Bay Shore or Islip for older students.

Seaview has about 360 homes and is served by the Bay Shore ferry. There are a handful of year-round residents.

The Seaview Association owns and/or maintains the private sidewalks, bay and ocean beaches, a playground, athletic cours, community house and other amenities.

It’s a short walk to Ocean Beach restaurants and shopping. “We are in Seaview, which has great amenities,” Kerzner said. “But we are also just right outside of Ocean Beach, so you get the best of both worlds.”
