George Stephanopoulos sells Hamptons place for $5.131M
ABC News journalist George Stephanopoulos and his wife, the actress Alexandra Wentworth, have sold the East Hampton home they purchased a few years ago, according to Long Island Profiles.
The couple sold the five-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom, 1890 home for $5.131 million, real estate records show. A limited liability company called Kashmir Properties EH bought the one-acre property, which was listed for $5.55 million, according to records and the listing agent's website.
There is a cottage with one bedroom, one bathroom, a studio and a wood-burning fireplace, and the property contains a 60-foot heated gunite pool.
Stephanopoulos and Wentworth paid $3.5 million for the 4,100-square-foot home in 2009.
The house had been moved to its current location in the 1920s and added to in 1993 by architect Francis Fleetwood, according to property listings. There was a more recent renovation that included interior decorating by Michael S. Smith.
Stephanopoulos, an aide during the administration of President Bill Clinton, is ABC News' chief political correspondent, a “Good Morning America” co-anchor and “This Week” host. Wentworth has appeared in movies, including “Office Space," "Jerry Maguire” and “It's Complicated.” The listing agent was Ann Ciardullo of Sotheby's International Realty.
