Exposed wood beams are overhead in almost every part of this expanded post-and-beam cape listed for $1.45 million on a 7.5-acre lot in Greenport.
Completed in 2013, the two-bedroom, three-bath home with 2,258 square feet of living space was built by Vermont-based Timberworks Design, says listing agent JoAnn Wind of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty.
An open floor plan includes a living room with a stone fireplace and vaulted cathedral ceilings and a chef’s kitchen with a gas stove, slate floors and barn-style lighting fixtures. The first-floor master bedroom suite includes a bathroom and a walk-in closet. Upstairs, there is an additional bedroom and full bath.
In the backyard, a 16-by-42-foot deck runs the rear length of the home. A finished lower level walks out to space beneath the deck. There is a pond in a wooded rear portion of the property.
The property includes a 24-by-36-foot barn. There is a 16-by-24-foot heated outdoor kennel, which the current owner uses for training hunting dogs, she adds.
The home has a two-car attached garage, central air conditioning and blown-in insulation throughout, Wind says.
