This 1903 home in Greenport, now on the market for $895,000, has gone through a few makeovers in recent years.
When homeowners Nick Ellis and Bob Tapp, both interior designers, decided to renovate the house last year, they called on another designer and friend, Conni Cross. She was already familiar with their home since she had designed the rooms for previous owners in 2007. This collaboration led to a flow in the design between the existing rooms and the two new additions, says Corcoran’s Kate DiGregorio, listing agent.
A porch off the eat-in kitchen was converted into an enclosed foyer with natural light provided by lattice corner windows and a glass door leading to the backyard. The living room-dining room open floor plan was also extended to create a sitting area that boasts a marble, wood-burning fireplace complete with antique statues of Greek maidens each holding up an end of the mantel.
There are two bedrooms and three bathrooms, including the master bathroom. The eat-in kitchen and bathrooms have custom built-in cabinetry, and the living areas have 9-foot-high paneled ceilings. Other features include a stone patio with pergola, a wraparound porch and a detached one-car garage.
