The owners of this Lattingtown property did an extensive restoration to a house that years ago had been converted from a barn. It is on the market for $1.599 million.

Seller William Adlman modernized the structure in 2002, keeping the original cupola on top of the house and the hay lift in front, as well as the barn beams in the dining room.

“We were attracted to the fact that it was an old house,” Adlman says. “We kept the charm and everything we did inside is very Ralph Lauren.”

The barn, which dates from the 1800s, originally belonged to the house in front of Adlman’s, he says. The property also has an in-ground pool.

The property is listed with Eloise Halpern and Patricia Bischoff of Douglas Elliman Real Estate.
