Huntington home going up for auction

A commercial real estate investor will be auctioning off a house in Huntington in December.
The property, at 8 Goldfinch Lane, has a suggested opening bid of $399,000. Misha Haghani, the principal of the auctioneer agency Paramount Realty USA, says the house last sold 10 years ago for $758,000. Haghani says the homeowner opted to auction the house because “he’s able to control the timeline, he’s able to control the terms of the sale and he wants the marketplace to know he’s serious about selling the home.”
The median sold price in Huntington, based on sales in the last six months, is $499,000, according to the Multiple Listing Service of Long Island.
The ranch sits on a one-acre property and offers three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a detached two-car garage. The 1955 home features a fireplace and central air conditioning. The taxes are $18,700.
Open houses will be held on Dec. 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m.
The auction will take place on Dec. 15 at The Inn at Fox Hollow in Woodbury. In order to participate in the auction, bidders must purchase due diligence information on the Paramount website, and bring a bank check for $40,000 to the auction.
