If you want a house with a barn
RIVERHEAD
6 Sebastian Dr., $549,500
This property includes a three-bedroom ranch along with a four-stall barn and access to horse-riding areas, says listing agent Donna Lomenzo of Coldwell Banker M&D Good Life. The barn, in the backyard of the house, is constructed of hardie board and has a hay loft, electricity and running water. It opens to a paddock on the 1.2-acre tree-lined property.
The house, built in 1977, has three full bathrooms. A dual-sided fireplace warms both the living room and dining room, which has wide-plank hardwood floors. The eat-in kitchen, which Lomenzo says was updated three years ago, has a center island.
The living room, with exposed wood-beamed ceiling, has sliding glass doors that open to a three-seasons room. With glass from floor to ceiling, the room overlooks an in-ground pool and patio.
The master bedroom features a walk-in closet, a sitting area and sliders that open to a private deck. The home, which is on a cul-de-sac, also includes a full finished basement and a two-car garage.
The taxes are $9,564. Donna Lomenzo, Coldwell Banker M&D Good Life, 631-835-8056
MASTIC BEACH
12 Private Rd., $495,000
This three-bedroom farm ranch includes a 30-by-40-foot barn and a shed that was once on the estate of William Floyd, says listing agent Ursula Ellerkamp of First Hampton International Realty. The three-stall barn has electricity, running water and a kitchen, and it includes separate rooms for hay, saddles and showers. It opens to two separate paddocks on the 2.41-acre property.
The shed belonging to Floyd, a politician from Mastic Beach who signed the Declaration of Independence, was set to be demolished before a previous owner of the home had it moved to the property, Ellerkamp says.
The 1968 home, with two full bathrooms, is in a gated community of about 20 properties in the Old Mastic section. The farm kitchen, which Ellerkamp says was updated six years ago, has stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and vaulted wooden ceilings.
A fireplace — set in white brick from floor to ceiling and flanked by built-in bookshelves — is situated in the living room. The master bedroom includes a bathroom and a custom closet with built-in shelving and drawers. A screened-in porch overlooks the property, which is six miles from Smith Point beach.
The taxes are $16,036 and the annual association fee is $500. Ursula Ellerkamp, First Hampton International Realty, 631-398-3472.
OYSTER BAY
100 Blair Rd., $976,888
The Long Island Sound is just a short horse ride away from this four-bedroom farm ranch. There’s also plenty of room to ride a horse on the property, which the home’s listing agent says is two separate parcels that combine to form 3.2 acres.
“So if someone wants to have farm animals, they can have them,” says Michele Gottlieb of Douglas Elliman Real Estate. The barn, which has electricity, is on the side of the secluded property, which is about a quarter-mile from Oyster Bay Harbor and four miles from the Sound.
The house, built in 1965, offers three full bathrooms, a living room, eat-in kitchen, a formal dining room, and a den with a fireplace. Three of the bedrooms are on the first level, including the master, which has a full bath and walk-in closet. A fourth bedroom is on the second level, along with a bathroom, cedar closet and additional storage space.
The property also includes a back deck and a partially finished basement with walkout access to a 1-1/2-car garage.
The taxes are $19,451. Michele Gottlieb, Douglas Elliman Real Estate, 516-297-4623
