Joy Behar buys East Hampton house
TV talk show host and comedian Joy Behar recently purchased a home in East Hampton, according to the Long Island Real Estate Report.
“The View” star paid $2.875 million for the newly constructed 4,000-square-foot, shingled home for herself and her husband, Steve Janowitz, live.
“I wanted something roomy,” she says of the five-bedroom house. “Steve and I go days without bumping into each other.”
The former Lindenhurst High School English teacher and Stony Brook University aluma gets a .78-acre property with a heated pool, an outdoor fireplace and terraces. The home’s 4½ bathrooms have marble floors.
The house came on the market last year for $3.29 million. The listing agents were Martha Gundersen and Tracy Grossman of Brown Harris Stevens.
Behar says she recently sold a home in Sagaponack. The sales price has not yet been made public, but real estate records show that the home was listed in January for $1.25 million.
