Kooba handbag designer buys Amagansett house

Handbag designer Abbe Held will soon be summering in her own Hamptons home.

Held, the creative director of Kooba, recently purchased a seven-bedroom, 7.5-bath house in Amagansett for $6.1 million, according to the Long Island Real Estate Report.

The house first went on the market in 2008 for $9.75 million. It was not fully finished at the time. The last list price was $6.95 million.

The living room features a stone fireplace and vaulted ceilings. There is a heated gunite pool, as well as a spa, a pool house and an outdoor fireplace.

“It had the feel of a Tribeca loft but it is traditional on the outside,” says Elaine Stimmel of The Corcoran Group, the listing agent.

Kooba bags have been spotted on the wrists and shoulders of celebrities such as Hayden Panettiere, Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria and Rihanna.
