LI realtors donate $10,000 to Haiti relief
The Long Island Board of Realtors, comprised of 21,000 members, will donate $10,000 to Haiti relief efforts.
“The Long Island real estate community is deeply touched by the loss of life and damage caused by the earthquake in Haiti,” LIBOR President Kathy Engel said. “These are very challenging times for the people of Haiti. Long Island Realtors believe that we need to come together and give what we can to try and help the people of Haiti rebuild their lives.”
The donation was approved by the board during its January meeting Wednesday and will be sent to the Realtor Relief Foundation created in 2001 by the National Association of Realtor for disaster victims. The national trade group has been coordinating some of the industry’s relief efforts and will contribute $550,000 to various efforts for the earthquake victims.
