Long Beach luxe for less than a mil
Depending on your definition of a bargain, now might be a good time to score one in the luxury summer home market. In Long Beach, you can buy a resort-style oceanfront condo for less than a million bucks – just. The 36-unit Aqua Condominiums, on the Long Beach boardwalk, has marked down three of its units to $999,000.
“Most of the sales in the building are over $2 million,” says Jackie Urgo of Marketing Directors Inc., exclusive sales and marketing for the properties. Penthouse units in the building are priced at just over $3 million, Urgo says.
The building has an impressive amenity list – you’ll find both a doorman and a concierge in the lobby, direct elevator access to each apartment, a fitness center, an indoor swimming pool and outdoor hot tub, and cabana service on the ocean deck. There’s a garden with a putting green and children’s play area. And there’s one perk you can’t put a price on in Long Beach – two parking spots per unit with valet service.
The homes feature hardwood bamboo flooring, open kitchens with stainless-steel appliances, marble master baths and gas fireplaces in the living room. The reduced-price units are on the fourth and fifth floors, and have two bedrooms. One has two bathrooms and two terraces; the other two each have 2 ½ bathrooms and one terrace.
