Here’s a North Fork property that is sure to bring out someone’s inner farmer. The 1.15-acre parcel in Mattituck -- on the market for $525,000 -- has an organic orchard, vineyard and then some.

About a half-acre on the side of the house is dedicated to crops that include cherries, berries, hazelnuts, plums and grapes, says Janet Bidwell of Douglas Elliman Real Estate, who with Pamela Hogrefe is marketing the house. This side of the yard has a chicken coop and a greenhouse, Bidwell adds, noting that the property is zoned for agriculture. The property also includes specimen plantings and an in-ground pool.

There is another separate vineyard across the street and Christmas tree farm next door, Bidwell says.

As for the farmhouse with rocking chair porch, it was built sometime between 1895 and 1898. About 1,800 square feet, it has wood floors throughout, including pine on the second floor, where all three bedrooms and a full bath are located. A half-bath is on the first floor.

The house is equipped with an Econoburn wood-fuel boiler, which works in concert with the main oil burner. As the name suggests, the wood burner runs off wood and, if the wood should run out, the oil burner automatically takes over. Bidwell says the owner burns about six to seven cords of wood most winters.
