A “Mini Oheka” built by banker and philanthropist Otto Kahn in 1937 as a wedding gift for his son on 10.4 acres in Muttontown is on the market for $6.3 million. The annual property taxes are $97,113.

Known as Felix Domi, the French chateau-style estate was designed by architect John Russell Pope, who also designed the Jefferson Memorial in Washington D.C.

Otto Kahn's former estate, Oheka Castle, is about 5 miles to the east. It is the second-largest home built in the United States.

Kahn's son, Roger Wolfe Kahn, lived in the Muttontown estate until he died in 1962, according to his obituary in the New York Times. He was an orchestra leader and private pilot.

The Muttontown Road home is more than 6,000 square feet, with seven bedrooms and eight full bathrooms. The property features an equestrian jump course, paddock and eight-stall barn. There’s also an in-ground pool, U.S. Open-grade tennis court, bluestone patios and a flower garden.

The property, which is zoned for the Jericho Union Free School District, "is a large parcel of land with the ability to partition or subdivide,” said listing agent Christina Porter of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty.

"It has what I consider to be gracious-sized rooms, not oversized or mammoth rooms,” she said. Many original details, such as wood-plank floors, paneling and molding, remain.

There are some unusual spaces, such as a basement spa, which includes a massage room, steam room and sauna. There’s also a "trophy room" noted on the floor plan. “It’s very cozy, with a bar," Porter said. "It makes it a little unique — but the next person may not have a lot of trophies.”
