Montauk house to tell owner when being 'green' pays off
How would you like to be able to track not only how much energy your home is using and saving but also know when your “green” investment has paid itself off? A 7,800-square-foot, five-bedroom, four-bath home being built in the Ditch Plains area of Montauk claims it can do just that.
The builder and owner, Anthony Lauto of Lauto Group Logic, boasts that “the utility costs for this house are equal to what I might pay for a home one third of the size."
Lauto is constructing the house as a summer home.
The home features energy-efficient innovations including photovoltaic solar panels, geothermal heating and cooling and a sophisticated energy monitoring system designed by Sight N Sounds.
