A modern home across the street from Great South Bay in Fire Island’s Ocean Bay Park is on the market for $2.999 million.

"It has beautiful views of the bay," says listing agent Abigail Mago of Fire Island Sales & Rentals, adding that the owners nicknamed it The White House for its distinctive look. "From the roof deck, you actually see both the bay and the ocean, which is pretty spectacular."

The Bay Walk property, which was one of three houses in the area destroyed in a fire in October 2019, was rebuilt and designed in 2020 by Glenn Graham, a Bay Shore builder who does a good deal of work on Fire Island.

"It’s a challenge with new construction not to build sort of a Sheetrock block," says Mago. "I think they did a really nice job with a lot of the details."

The 3,000-square-foot home has five bedrooms, three full and two half baths, including a primary suite with a wet bar and direct deck access.

The upper level has an open floor plan with a white-painted wood shiplap ceiling, oak flooring and a fireplace with surrounding leather finish. The kitchen has Shaker wood cabinets, quartz counters, and beveled glass subway backsplash. The living area leads to more than 2,400 square feet of decking, with a swimming pool, cabana room and bathroom, and outdoor shower.

The home lends itself to entertaining and is "is really gracious in terms of size" Mago says.
