The Old Mill Inn on Mattituck Inlet -- formerly co-owned by Fox News host Greta Van Susteren -- is up for sale. Listed for $1.2 million, the waterfront restaurant offers charm, spectacular views and a storied past, says listing agent Deborah Kusa of Douglas Elliman Real Estate.

Originally built as a grist mill around 1820, the structure was converted into a tavern in 1902. In the kitchen is a trap door that opens below to the water. Chances are, Ye Old Mill, as it was known then, was the site of bootlegging, Kusa says, adding that there are reports of Clark Gable and Carole Lombard hanging out there, too.

Today the restaurant continues to attract celebrities, as well as foodies, locals, tourists and boaters, Kusa says, noting that docking is available.

The Old Mill Inn is the only waterfront restaurant on the north side of Mattituck, Kusa says. Inside, one of the giant mechanisms from the grist mill is incorporated into the design, and it has a wood-burning fireplace in the pub. Above the restaurant are living quarters.

The restaurant offers local seafood, fresh farm fare and a wine list from local vineyards.
