Is it because we’re recovering from an active summer or girding ourselves for the holiday shopping season that we’re seeing frequent use of “peaceful” “tranquil” and “serene” in real estate listings lately? One house on the market for $1.795 million actually used all three words in its online ad.

A quick search through Nassau and Suffolk listings of houses for sale revealed that “serene” was used 132 times, “tranquil” 101 and “peaceful” 64.

What, no loud, chaotic or you’ll be climbing the walls with these neighbors?

Bill Schmith, owner of the “peaceful, tranquil, and serene” four-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home in Babylon, says, “It’s the most gorgeous spot in the world. It’s right on the bay. All you do is watch the tide come in and watch the tide go out. That’s peaceful.”
