Prudential Douglas Elliman's Dolly Lenz may be the vice chair of her real estate company and an industry superstar, but when it came time to sell her house she turned to a competitor for help.

Lenz's seven-bedroom, 7.5-bath Water Mill home is on the market for $5.495 million as a co-exclusive with Tim Davis of The Corcoran Group. Lenz is listed as the other broker.

A Corcoran senior managing director and associate broker, Davis says this is the first time Lenz has marketed the property without a summer tenant living at the house. Asked why she might have turned to a rival for help, Davis called Corcoran "one of the best."

Lenz could not be reached for comment.

The 6,459-square-foot property features "sunlit vaulted interiors," according to the listing. The 1.51-acre property has a tennis court, a heated pool and a detached carriage house.
