LUXURY LISTING. A Southampton mansion near Agawam Lake has come on the market for $39 million. The 1928 home belongs to business executive Richard M. Burdge, according to public records. There are few details available yet on the brand-new listing, except that the property is eight acres and is listed with Donald Gleasner of The Corcoran Group.
BY THE BAY. A historic Huntington Bay mansion belonging to the younger brother of former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger has come on the market for $1.59 million. Built in 1912, the stucco French chateau features a circular tower and leaded glass. It was one of only five built as summer homes in the Beaux Arts Park Historic District, a National Register of Historic Places site once part of a 67-acre development where a Stanford White gambling casino once stood, says Jody Schmid of Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate, who is listing the property. Public records show that the house is in a trust named after Walter B. Kissinger and his wife, Eugenie. Kissinger is a Long Island executive and philanthropist who has served as trustee for Hofstra University and the Stony Brook Foundation. “Our children have all grown up, and it’s too big for us,” says Kissinger, who owns other properties around the country. “And we’re looking for a smaller house. It’s not an issue of leaving Long Island.”The 1-acre property comes with deeded beach rights and a separate three-bedroom guest house.

RECORD SETTER? A 1908 home in Garden City designed by renowned architect Aymar Embury for the then-president of the Long Island Rail Road, Ralph Peters, is for sale with an asking price of $5.450 million. The 10,000-square-foot house is on the highest point in the village of Garden City. There are eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms, two half-baths and a wraparound-granny porch.Celebrity neighbors of note include Emmy-winning actress Susan Lucci of “All My Children” soap opera fame and best-selling mystery author Nelson DeMille. “This is the largest private home in Garden City and considered, by many, to be the finest location," says Bob Krener, agent/owner of Taylor Warner Realty, adding, “If this house sells at the asking price, it will be the most expensive sale of a private residence in Garden City on record.”
