History is just a short walk away from this white ranch house in Cove Neck, which is across the street from Sagamore Hill, also known as President Theodore Roosevelt’s summer White House. It on the market for $1.575 million.

The house, built in 1966, is on 4.5 acres next to land that is part of the Sagamore Hill National Historic Site and has been preserved. Roosevelt, the 26th president, lived at Sagamore Hill from 1885 until his death in 1919. He hosted dignitaries from around the world in the house, which is undergoing renovations. The site also includes the Theodore Roosevelt Museum and a nature trail.

“Just walking the grounds and being there is so peaceful,” says listing agent Kathryn Zoller of Piping Rock Associates.

The three-bedroom, 3½-bathroom house next door has been renovated, and includes wide-plank wood flooring, French doors and a gourmet chef’s kitchen with a large center island. The lower level features a library with a fireplace and courtyard.
