LIT UP. Twinight, the six-acre Centre Island estate said to be based on the Petit Trianon chateau at the Palace of Versailles, has come on the market for $25 million. The eight-bedroom, nine-bath, three half-bath home is owned by Richard Baron Cohen, a businessman and well-known European porcelain collector who hosted a TV-star-studded benefit for the Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery & Aquarium in 2008. Cohen says he is selling because he wants to buy a Manhattan town house to be closer to his mother and his brother and where he can open a museum to house his porcelain collection, also named Twinight. The house is named Twinight because of the natural pink and blue light created by the setting sun when it hits the Portuguese limestone exterior. Built in 2005 on six acres, the 18,000-square-foot home features a movie theater and a two-story library. The property is listed with Marion Fiore and Clifford Packingham of Engel & Völkers.

CHASING A PRICE CUT. Earlier this year, comedian Chevy Chase’s former compound in East Hampton went on the market for $33 million. The price of that 3.2-acre estate has now been lowered to $27 million, says Prudential Douglas Elliman’s John Golden, who has a co-exclusive on the property. Chase occupied the 10,000-square-foot, circa01895 home from 1987 to 2001. The star of NBC’s “Community” originally purchased the 10-bedroom home on 2.2 acres; the current owners added an adjoining acre of land and a four-bedroom home to the property. The parcels can be purchased together or separately; the 2.2 acres is listed at $21 million, and the additional acre  is priced at $6 million. Nancy Mizrahi and Diane Saatchi of Saunders Associates share the co-exclusive with Golden.

ALMOST AN ISLAND. Why schlep all the way to the Hamptons when you can own your own private oasis in East Patchogue? Travel past private gates and over three stone bridges to this 2.5-acre estate on Salt Meadow Point and you’ll find a 6,000-square-foot home with a private beach, yacht mooring, a gunite pool and a 12-person Jacuzzi. The land abuts a 150-acre reserve, assuring that the views of Great South Bay from every bedroom remain permanent ones. “It’s a special spot, the setting is amazing…I have never seen anything like it,” says The Corcoran Group’s Zachary Vichinsky, who has the listing. The area is abundant with wildlife, he adds. “There is such serenity there." On the market for $3,399,999, the house has three bedrooms, all with balconies and bay views, four bathrooms, library, gym, and guest quarters.
