You could own a home designed by Delano and Aldrich -- the same architects who designed Oheka Castle, the historic Gold Coast mansion-turned-hotel in Huntington where pop heartthrob Kevin Jonas said “I do” in 2009.

This 1930 brick, English-style country house in Lloyd Harbor is also a Delano and Aldrich design, and it’s on the market for $2.795 million. Six fireplaces warm this six-bedroom home, which has seven bathrooms and two half bathrooms.

The landscaped 2-acre property is zoned for horses and includes an in-ground pool. Ownership includes beach and mooring rights. “This house offers great value. I don’t believe you can build this size house on this piece of property for this price,” says listing agent Peggy Moriarty of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty. “On top of that, to find a house of this magnitude with such reasonable taxes and that includes the incorporated village tax (under $30,000) -- that alone is something that makes the house a tremendous value.”  -- Kristin Taveira

SOUTHAMPTON BY THE SEA. Ocean lovers, this might be your paradise — a five-bedroom, four-bath Southampton house listed for $5.995 million that is meant to look like the sea.

The property’s wave-shaped roof and rolling lawns, which represent the ocean, are complemented by an interior that draws heavily from ship designs, owner Tom Ragan says. The attic -- a full-size bedroom with a bath -- and the master bedroom and bath have wooden plank flooring that resembles the teak strips on ships.

The attic itself is shaped like a gangplank and imitates the feel of boarding a ship. The house also comes complete with a 64-foot heated lap pool, heated Bluestone flooring on the first floor, an expansive porch with a fireplace, and towering glass windows in the living room that overlook the backyard and bring in natural light.

The beach is less than a mile away. The house, which was designed by James K. Brehm, is inspired by Ragan’s family. He comes from a long lineage of n avy a dmirals — including his father, grandfather and great grandfather — and spent much of his life living on ships or near the ocean.
