FRENCH INFLUENCE Can’t get to Provence this year? Then you might be interested in a French manor-style house now on the market for $1,749,500 in Lloyd Harbor. The design was inspired by a 200-year-old home in Southern France. Anthony Piscopio, who is listing the property with Christine Diraimo of Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate, describes the manor and property as having “a very warm, quaint European feel — beautiful, rolling hills mimic the Southern France inspiration.” Built in 1952, the home was renovated in 2001 by Hoffman Grayson Architects. Its 14 rooms include a guest suite with access to one of two kitchens. Author Bill Nack and his family called it home after he penned the novel “Secretariat: The Making of a Champion” in 1975. While living in the house, Nack, a former sportswriter for Newsday and Sports Illustrated, worked on his columns and articles in the study off the screened-in porch.
