PRICE CHOP. The waterfront estate of former Doubleday publishing chief executive John Sargent Sr. has had another price cut, according to Propertyshark.com. Originally listed for $40 million in July 2010 and reduced to $38 million in October, it is now being offered for a $28 million. Situated on Mecox Bay in Water Mill, the 2.6-acre property boasts a 600 foot-bulkhead and sweeping views of the ocean. The main house, which was built in 1826 and moved to its current location in the 1960s, has four bedrooms, 4 ½ bathrooms, a state-of-the art kitchen – and water views from every room. Other amenities include a separate guest cottage, an artist’s studio over a three-car garage and even its own 30-by-50-foot dock. “After owning this home for a generation, the Sargent family has decided that it’s time to let someone else have the opportunity to own a property that takes your breath away,” says listing agent Jason Schommer of The Corcoran Group.

AGENCY CHANGE. Supermodel Christie Brinkley's has listed her North Haven house with Saunders & Associates. On the market since last year for $15.75 million, the house overlooking Sag Harbor and Shelter Island Sound had been listed with Jay Flagg at Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate. Flagg is now at Saunders, where he is co-listing the property with Jane Gill. Brinkley bought the five-bedroom, five-bath, one-half-bath home in 2004 for ex-husband, Hamptons architect Peter Cook. They divorced in 2008 after Cook had an affair.

BUILDER'S ROW. This 9,000-square-foot newly constructed home in Bridgehampton has come on the market for $8.4 million. The six-bedroom postmodern, which is still under construction, has six bathrooms and two half bathrooms. “It was a nondescript small house that was knocked down,” says Prudential's Carol Nobbs, who is co-listing the property with Vincent Horcasitis. "Anthony Gugliotta is building a major home. He built two others on the same street." Located south of Montauk Highway, the street seems to be a favorite for builders: This one-acre property is across from the home of builder-to-the-stars Joe Farrell. Known as "Sandcastle," it is on the market for $49 million, Nobbs says.
