Andrew and Lisa Vaughan, say they would like either to sell their house on the Centerport waterfront or trade it for a house within the Harborfields School District. Price on the house is between $998,000 and $1,078,000. Credit: Handout

The owners of a waterfront home in Centerport are not only looking to sell but also swap.

Homemaker Lisa Vaughan, 45, says she and her husband, Andrew, 43, a child psychologist, want to move with their five children to a smaller home within the Harborfields school district.

Offering such a trade, with the owner of the other house paying the differential in price, might help allow someone to move who might otherwise be unable to sell in this real estate market. “It saves money and time and anxiety on everybody’s behalf,” says Lisa.

Located on the Little Neck peninsula overlooking Northport Harbor, Asharoken and Connecticut, the house is listed for a price range of $998,000 to $1,078,000. The 1970 Colonial has five bedrooms and 4½ baths with two fireplaces. All rooms offer panoramic views of the water. There is a deck and a saltwater pool on the one-acre property with access to the beach.

The listing agent is Suzanne Asher cq of Signature Premier Properties .
