$1.599M former carriage house in Sands Point tied to Vanderbilts
A former carriage house in Sands Point has come on the market for $1.599 million.
Dating back to 1937, the 2,493-square-foot home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. French doors lead to a brick patio in back of the 2.3-acre property, which includes stables, a barn, a pool and a tennis court.
“It still has a barn and is zoned for horses,” says listing agent Maggie Keats of Douglas Elliman Real Estate, adding that the village allows for one horse per acre, so the owner could potentially have up to two horses.
The house was once part of the estate of Consuelo Vanderbilt Earl, great-great-granddaughter of Cornelius Vanderbilt, says Keats.
