Shelter Island modern round house sells for $950,000
This modern round house on Shelter Island, built in 1972 and renovated in 2013, recently sold for $950,000. The asking price had been $1.099 million.
The home, with four bedrooms on the ground floor and an open living room and kitchen on the upper level, had been updated by the seller and used as a rental property, says listing agent Penelope Moore of Saunders & Associates. It sits on 1.5 acres with a row of white birch trees. A long deck almost entirely encircles the second floor of the home.
“This time of year you could see over to Gardiners Bay,” Moore says. “You see the water on one side and the apple orchard and birch trees on the other,” Moore says.
The property also has an in-ground pool and a six-car garage.
