Thespians may fall on their swords for this $8.88-million chateau-style Upper Brookville home, which features a media room with a projector screen and a stage complete with fringed curtains.

The 15,000-square-foot home, built in 1987, sits on five acres. Inside is a two-story grand foyer and a curved staircase. Each of the eight bedrooms has its own en suite bathroom. A guest cottage has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room with a view of the expansive property.

Floor-to-ceiling bay windows give an airy feeling to the 19-by-30-foot master bedroom, which features two sitting areas, a fireplace and French doors opening onto a private patio overlooking the heated gunite pool. Two large dressing rooms adjoin the marble bath.

"The attention to detail throughout the home is second to none," says Nick Woll of Signature Premier Properties, the listing agent, noting that the intricate woodwork alone is worth close to $1 million. The library, for instance, has mahogany wood-paneled walls.

There is also a wine cellar, a gym with a sauna and a billiards room, as well as a tennis court and dance floor for recreational play.
