A Colonial on the Great South Bay in Copiague is on the market for $999,470.
Built in 1954, the house had been damaged in Superstorm Sandy in 2012 and was completely renovated and elevated, says listing agent Steven Rainone of Netter Real Estate.

"It was elevated in the manner almost along the lines of a commercial elevation," Rainone says. "There are stanchions that are solid concrete. And then they framed out the entire lower end of the house in enormous steel I-beams."
The 1,760-square-foot home, on East Drive, has three bedrooms and 2½ bathrooms laid out in an open floor plan. There are hardwood floors, granite counters and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen and two outdoor fireplaces.
The primary suite has cathedral ceilings and two walls of glass that face south and west.

Updates, which were also done by the current owner, include an elevator that goes from the ground level under the house to the main level as well as leased solar panels and a wraparound deck.
"There’s nothing in this home that is old," says Rainone.

Located in the Copiague School District, the 0.16 acre property, which includes bulkhead, a ramp with rollers for a small boat or personal watercraft, and beachfront, is close to Tanner Park Marina and Copiague Neck County Park.
Property taxes are $18,512 and flood insurance is $732 annually.
