Why it’s for sale Sherri, 49, and Eugene, 50, who both recently retired from U.S. Air Force logistics positions at F.S. Gabreski Airport in Westhampton, say they’re relocating to a second home in Florida.
The Grassies had their 2,700-square-foot home built in 1999 when their daughter was in fourth grade. Sherri shares:
“We found the property first and then found a builder and designed what was and still is our dream home. This has been a gathering place for family and friends for a long time. We put in the pool in 2004. Even though we’re near the ocean, there’s no reason to leave the property in the summertime. The pool house has a bathroom, a refrigerator and sink and an indoor/outdoor granite bar that becomes the summertime gathering place. We’ve had July Fourth parties here for hundreds. And I’ve cooked for them all. People love being here. My in-laws would come up for their Christmas in July celebration.… Other than in the bedrooms and kitchens, the flooring is hardwood. Three of the four bedrooms are very large. My daughter lived like a queen growing up. The bedroom she grew up in is the size of the living room on the first floor. The living room has a beautiful gas fireplace, which is flanked by built-in bookcases. . . . I would love for a family to enjoy what we have enjoyed all these years.”
