“From the outside, you’d never know how big it is. In 2005, we added a chef’s kitchen with a sitting room and a one-car attached garage. On the south side, we added a den, two bedrooms and a bathroom. The ceilings are very high in the extensions.

"With a large family, we can seat over 30 people for dinner comfortably. It’s equally cozy, too, because in the center of the house is a wood-burning fireplace surrounded by concrete walls and radiant heat flooring, which is throughout the house.

"It’s a quiet and peaceful home. People say there’s a great aura here. The neighborhood is outstanding. We jokingly say we’re in the theater district because the Bellport Playhouse is nearby, and they’re great neighbors. We walk into the village regularly.

"There’s only seven houses on our block, and it ends at the water. Our street is very narrow and looks like a driveway. It’s cute and private. I don’t think there’s a community of friends anywhere that are as big and close as we are. We’ve been friends for more than 20 years. You don’t find that in every community. The people and the village are very close-knit.”
