Why it's for sale: The Dollingers say they want more space for guests.
About 10 years ago, Joel, 68, an insurance industry veteran, and Joan, 65, decided it was time to downsize. They sold their house in North Woodmere and moved to this pet-friendly community. "It's the most convenient place to be," says Joan, a stay-at-home grandmother, noting the proximity to Manhattan, major highways, supermarkets and retailers. As for the 1,540-square-foot corner unit - it's bright with an updated kitchen, three bedrooms, two full bathrooms and two half-baths. It's the only unit with a separate entrance to the basement, which once served as a dentist's office. Joan explains more:
"The rooms are large. We broke down the wall between the kitchen and dining room to create an open space. . . . The kitchen has a granite countertop, dark wood cabinets and new appliances. . . . We have tile floors throughout, gas heat, and walk-in closets and sliders out to a spacious deck."
