Why it’s for sale: Tucker, who works part-time at an optometrist’s office, says she will be relocating out of state to be closer to family.

There’s a nice flow to the main floor layout of her home, which was built in 1957. Large entryways between rooms make entertaining easy. Tucker shares:

“I have a large kitchen that we redid a long time ago. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances and lots of cabinet space and a large expanse of backsplash subway tile. My husband built a bird feeder that he put right outside the kitchen window. It’s so nice watching the birds.

"There’s a wood-burning fireplace in the living room. The fireplace mantel and surround are all white marble. The sun hits the room in the morning and floods it with sunshine. I sit there with my coffee and paper. It’s such a nice way to wake up.

"The layout has an open look with nice, large openings. We have big widows in both the living room and dining room and it creates a lot of nice light. The whole main floor has hardwood flooring. There’s a separate den where I watch TV. There are two bedrooms on the main floor and two more upstairs.

"I think that Glen Cove is one of the safest communities on Long Island. We have our own police force. It’s very quiet. I’ve always had good neighbors. My backyard is very private.”
