“Our steel and brick home is built into a hill overlooking Palace Lake. I grew up here fishing, swimming, skating, sledding and canoeing. We own the property on the other side, so it’s completely private. People can’t believe it’s here. . . .
"We have three levels, and skylights light up the stairwell from the first to the third level. There are bedrooms on all levels, and the master bedroom is on the top. We have nine sliding glass doors with built-in blinds, which I love. Each level has its own deck and access to the yard.
"There’re four fireplaces. The first level has a large rec room, a bathroom, workshop, a wine cellar and a utility room. The second level has a living room, a music room, a library, a bathroom and a laundry room.
"The kitchen, with a 48-inch Thermador stove, is on the top level. It’s a well-laid-out kitchen with a large island that looks onto a big open room. Parties? My God, we’ve had parties — pig roasts, lamb roasts, 40, 50, 60 people and my daughter’s wedding.
"People love the abundance of wildlife. It’s a birding paradise. There’s always something to watch. This house could be for a multigenerational situation. Everything is connected but there’s privacy on every level.”
