“The centerpiece of the home is probably the kitchen. We redid it six years ago. My son is a chef, and it was redesigned with his ideas. It’s large, with an eating area and an island. . . . Each of my [two] sons had their own den. There’s one upstairs and another one toward the rear of the house. The third [den] has a bar, couches and a TV.
"There’s one master suite and bathroom and another master bedroom for my mother-in-law. Ceramic tile flooring is in the kitchen, foyer and hallway. The rest is carpeted, but original 1964 oak floors are underneath.
"This house was always a big family hangout. We’ve had sit-down dinners during the holidays for 37 people. And the boys always had friends over. There were some nights when there would be eight TVs with video games going on. The backyard has a 16-by-32-foot in-ground pool with Jacuzzi jets near the steps and a concrete surround and plenty of space for entertaining and barbecuing.
"The house originally had an apartment. We took walls down nine years ago and made it one big house. It could be converted back with proper permits. There’s already two electric meters. We have a detached 12-by-32-foot modular garage. The neighborhood is great.”
