Why it’s for sale: Haan, 53, a psychotherapist, says she plans to travel with her fiance in his line of work delivering motorcycles across the country.
Haan’s property backs a treed property owned by the Town of Brookhaven. It is deemed open space, which prohibits development. Haan says:
“If I wasn’t leaving Long Island, I’d never leave this house, neighborhood or village. The schools are amazing, and I’m within walking distance to the village. . . . When you walk in, you see it’s filled with light. I have bay windows facing the east and sliders onto the deck facing west. It’s an open-concept layout, so the living room, dining area and kitchen with a large breakfast bar are connected. The kitchen is granite and stainless. . . .
"The master suite includes a large bedroom, a sitting room, a walk-in closet, a master bath and an entrance to the deck. The master suite could be separate space for mom. There’s a second master bedroom. Plus the basement is finished. . . .
"The whole yard is a garden with stone walls filled with perennials for year-round color. I have a pond and waterfall in the front surrounded by evergreens and perennials. There’s also a formal rose garden. I have every color but red. I’m especially fond of lavender. It is a low-maintenance garden with a drip irrigation system and easy-care roses.”
