The Slutskys bought their 1848 Colonial in 2001. The three-bedroom, 2½ bathroom house is on 1.09 acres that includes a pond. The front porch runs the width of the house and contributes to the historical personality of the home. There are wide-plank floors throughout, and the home is equipped with central air-conditioning. Rob Slutsky talks about the home:

“The property is like a park .?.?. It’s wonderful and is what originally attracted me. The house has .?.?. enormous character .?.?. We have a 30-by-20-foot dining room that looks over the entire backyard. There’s a second dining room off the kitchen, and the bedrooms are all fairly large .?.?. The living room mantel is about 20 feet long .?.?. We have several leaded glass doors — one leads into the library off the entryway. The master bedroom, also about 30 by 20 feet, has a gas fireplace .?.?. The master bathroom runs the full length of the bedroom .?.?. From three rooms, we made this large master bath, which has a walk-in shower and claw-tub bath. When we renovated, we made a huge amount of closets for my wife and a separate walk-in closet with a washer and dryer .?.?. I was told the house was a stagecoach stop for the stagecoach that went from Brooklyn to points east. I don’t know if these were all for the stagecoach [guests]."
