Amar'e Stoudemire gets engaged to Alexis Welch in Paris

New York Knicks star Amar'e Stoudemire got engaged to his longtime girlfriend Alexis Welch in Paris yesterday.

“Paris, the food, & lights were very romantic. When she said yes, it was surreal. I’m still floating,” Stoudemire said on his verified Twitter account.

The Knicks power forward also shared a photo of Welch and the ring.

Stoudemire had said earlier on Twitter, “Paris is very romantic, love this place.”

The couple, who have three children, are set to wed in 2013, according to People.com. The magazine also reported that Stoudemire designed the 8.5-carat radiant-cut ring himself, pegging its value at more than $1 million.
